William H. White, Jr. Saturday, February 8, 1930 - Saturday, June 24, 2017

William H. White Jr., age 87, passed away on June 24, 2017 at the Masonic Home in Elizabethtown where he resided for the past 4 years.  Born in Ridley Park and raised in Clifton Heights, Bill was a long time resident of Newtown Square. He graduated from Clifton Heights High School class of 1947 where he was class president. He continued his education and graduated from Drexel in 1961 with a BS degree in Electrical Engineering. He worked for the Bell Telephone Company from 1948 to 1962, and then for the BUDD Company in Hunting Park from 1962 till 1990, when he retired as General Engineering Manager. Bill proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant. 
Growing up as a child he attended St. Stephen's Episcopal Church in Clifton Heights and St. Peter's Episcopal Church when he resided in Newtown Square. He was a member of Prospect Lodge #578 F&AM in Prospect Park, a member of the Philadelphia Consistory attaining his 32nd Degree, and a member of the Lulu Temple Shrine. Bill was an instructor at the Marple Newtown Amateur Radio Club, former Assistant Scout Leader with Troop 121, and a supporter of many Drum and Bugle Corps. Bill shared 59 years of marriage with the former Frances C. Presz, who passed away in 2010. He is survived by his children, William A. (Rita) White of Chester Springs and Amy J. Kerr of Lancaster, seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and sisters Margaret White of Clifton Heights, and Lorraine (Robert) Prescott of Ocean City, NJ. He was predeceased by his brothers Elmer and Jerry. Relatives and friends are invited to his calling on Friday, July 21, 2017, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Frank C. Videon Funeral Home, 2001 Sproul Road, Broomall, PA. A Masonic Service will be held by Prospect Lodge #578 F&AM. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 22, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in Glenwood Memorial Park, West Chester Pike, Broomall, PA.
